We have been playing music together for almost a decade: jazz, blues, hymns, and classical.  The music we play is a unique combination of these musical styles, but does not fit conveniently into any one of those categories.  We are seeking performance opportunities in the Raleigh and Cary area.

Sara Dickson plays the piano. She has a degree in piano pedagogy at Campbell University and teaches private piano lessons in her home studio (www.SaraDicksonPiano.com). Sara is embracing and expanding on her classical training, composing mostly emotional and lyrical instrumental music with jazz, folk, and classical flavorings. She has a soft spot for the key of C# minor. Her musical influences range from Rachmaninoff and Chopin to Nickel Creek, Regina Spektor, Bob Dylan, The Wailin' Jennys, Keith Jarrett, Frank Sinatra, Eva Cassidy and Kristen Leigh Southworth.

Justin Dickson plays the cornet and bass guitar. He has a degree in music education from UNC-Greensboro, and is the band director at Hawley Middle School in Creedmoor, North Carolina. His musical heroes and influences include Louis Armstrong, The Beatles, Chet Baker, Wynton Marsalis, Keith Jarrett, James Jamerson, and every teacher he has ever had. He was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC, where he learned to play the trumpet in his school band program, just like his father and grandfather did. Growing up in North Carolina's "city of the arts," he was surrounded by world-class classical musicians, funky old blues singers, big swing bands, brilliant jazz soloists, and a culture of creativity and opportunity.  He was educated formally through classical training, and informally in jam sessions (back when "I'm with the band" could get you into a bar even though you were 17) and by sitting in with local musicians like Big Ron Hunter and Melva Houston.
